A 4-day hike in the Berber villages of Toubkal. This place is not far from Marrakech, only 1 hour 30 minutes transfer to the starting point of our mini trek in Morocco.

This 4-day Atlas Morocco trek will take you through the majestic valleys of the western High Atlas, passing through beautiful Berber villages. During our Mini trek, we plan to sleep each night in small traditional lodges built in local architecture.
At 8:00 a.m. we set off to the village of Imioughlad, on a road that's less well maintained, where we meet our team of muleteers. We have just a few minutes to prepare ourselves by putting on sunscreen and filling up our water bottles, as during the first two hours of walking, there's no possibility of finding water. Crossing the village of Imioughlad, the climb is gentle towards the Tacht pass (2000m). The first stop offers a superb view of the village. The trail passes through a forest of red juniper and holm oak. After an hour's descent, we reach the village of Tiziane, set in a valley of many earthy colors. Overnight at a local lodge. 1hr 30mins drive. 5 hours walk.
A beautiful stage awaits us, with just as much difference in altitude; the landscape is even more beautiful. We start climbing in the shade of gigantic walnut trees, then the sun comes out to warm us up before we reach the pass. At the Tiziane sheepfold, it's always best to purify water taken from springs or rivers before drinking it. This is because it can disturb the digestive system, which is unaccustomed to spring water. We cross a thurifer juniper forest before reaching the Téouti pass at 2400m. Descent to Assaka where we have lunch. Then on to Tizgui, a village of exceptional architectural beauty. Overnight at the local lodge, 5 hrs 30 mins walk.
This stage takes in some of the wildest and most beautiful scenery on the Toubkal. Wake-up at 7am, breakfast at 7:30am, departure around 8am, under a still shy sun in a ravine at the foot of a summit over 3,600m high, up to the Tazaghart plateau. A 2h30 climb on an easy trail. This is the shepherds' domain, where we'll meet herds and Berber shepherds. From the Tougdalt pass, there's a panoramic view of the surrounding peaks. Long descent through a forest of thurifer juniper. Lunch in the shade of gigantic hundred-year-old walnut trees on the banks of the Azaden river. We're in the most beautiful valley on the Toubkal - a landscape to be enjoyed with lunch and a refreshing break from the fatigue of a long walk. In the afternoon, we continue on to the village of Tzi Oussem (2250m). Overnight with local people, 5 hrs 30 mins walk.
Leaving the valley and villages to gain altitude, we follow a beautiful path at the foot of Mount Toubkal, with many views over the Azzaden valley. After a 2h30 hike, we reach the Mzik Pass at an altitude of 2450m. We continue down to the beautiful Imlil Valley, with its lush green valleys and orchards. Terrace lunch under tall walnut trees. Transfer to Marrakech. 5 hrs walk. 1hr 45min drive.
