Trekking in Saghro Morocco: a day’s trekking in southern Morocco to discover the pre-Saharan Saghro massif. The particular charm of Jebel Saghro is essentially due to its exceptional geology, which explains the variety of its landscapes: the rugged relief is made up of immense, jagged plateau, high cliffs, deep gorges, steep peaks, towers and tabular escarpments amidst which camel caravans travel, and gorges embellished with boxwood bushes and conglomerate monoliths.

From September to May, we invite you to discover a magnificent region in the south of Morocco, the Saghro massif, situated in the south of the Valley of the Roses, the last mountain before the Draa Valley and Oasis and large desert areas.

Trekking in Jebel Saghro Morocco: Jebel Saghro is a volcanic massif rising to 2712 m, with spectacular lunar landscapes, plateaus, peaks and canyons. It’s also a land of transhumance, home to the Aït Atta tribe with their Bedouin tents and herds of goats.

Day 01 :

Marrakesh -Tichka - Ouarzazat - Tagdilt

Early departure for Ouarzazate via the Tizi N'Tichka pass. After discovering the Dades Valley and its thousand Kasbahs, we drive due south over a desert plateau to the village of Tagdilt. Overnight with local people at 1650m. 6-hour drive.

Day 02 :

Tagdilt - Col N'Iferd- Irefd- Plateau N'Ouarg( 2250 m)

At the start of the hike, we watch the mules being loaded. We cross a huge plateau before climbing up to the Tizi N'iferd pass (2400m): a beautiful view of the central High Atlas massif in the distance. We then descend to the Iferd plateau. We set up our bivouac on a plateau often traversed by the semi-nomadic transhumants of the Ait Atta. Night in tents at 2250m. 5 hrs 30 mins walk.

Day 03 :

Almou N'Ouarg - Kouaouck summit (2600m) - Igli (1700m)

We start with a beautiful climb to the summit of Kouaouch (2600m). It's a climb that requires no technical equipment. Our cook brings us a picnic lunch. Descent via Tassegdilt. Night in tents in Igli at 1700m. 5 hrs 30 mins walk.

Day 04 :

Igli - Afourar gorges - Bab n'Ali- Ighazzoun Oasis

We descend through the Afourar Valley, which gradually becomes gorges, passing through the small Bouallouz Oasis. Then we reach Ousdidene. The landscape opens out onto an immense plateau dominated by the Bab n'Ali peaks. After climbing to the famous Bab n'Ali gate, we continue on to the Ighazoune Oasis. Overnight in tents. 5-hour walk.

Day 05 :

Ighazoun oasis - Tifdassine - Handour

Departure around 8.30 am towards the small Tifdassine pass. A tongue-in-cheek descent of the beautiful valley of the same name. Lunch under the almond trees. Continuation to the village of Handoure. 5-hour walk, overnight at the local gîte.

Day 06 :

Handoure- Ighazzoun - Agdez - Ouarzazat- Marrakesh

After thanking our muleteers, a stretch of track takes us to the town of Nkob. Then on to Agdez before crossing the Tichka Pass. Lunch after the pass, arriving in Marrakesh in the afternoon. 7-hour drive.
